Not As We lyrics

Clearly it is about starting over and being reborn again. I think it is about starting over as being single or being free from or struggling with an addiction (could be an addiction to someone). I like the idea of an addiction although I’m not sure if that is what it is about. 'Step one, step one' could be a reference to the 12 steps.

I think of someone continually relapsing. If you have known or experienced an addiction, it normally takes many attempts. You fake that you’re ok. “Gun shy” I see she wants to kill herself but she would never go through with it.

I know how she feels..
Day one, Start over again..
meaning trying to find yourself again without the other person that your use to being with.
Barely making sense, for now I'm faking it..
She is getting up everyday just like she is expected to and is continuing on but it's not what she wants it's what she is expected to do.
From Scratch, begin again..
I can REALLY relate to this part it's like all that time was wasted and you have to Start from the begining with someone else and she's dreding it!
And that's why she says I as I and NOT as we b/c she realizes her future will be without the person that she loves!
