This song is a great reminder to yourself that you should never give up and keep trying. You are always going to be strong enough in order to overcome your problems. Once you get through them you will be rewarded in a great way. The kids that look up to Jay-Z look up to him because he was strong and overcame his problems (based on the song) which rubs off a good feeling about a guy. This actually inspires me because I am going through a few bigger problems right now and I have been fighting for a long time whilst trying to overcome them. This helped me realize that I need to keep pushing and try to be happy while dealing with these problems.

Won't you follow me into the jungle? (yeah)
Ain't no God on these streets in the heart of the jungle (oh, Lord child)
Won't you follow me into the jungle? (yeah)
Ain't no god on my streets in the heart of the jungle (oh lord child)
Won't you follow me into the jungle
The Jungle is basically your life. It is very hard to figure out what you want to do and there are many problems involved with it. He wants you to follow him into it because it is always a great feeling knowing that someone is there for you and is willing to help you.

Yeah, I wear my chain to the game
But for the game I sip champagne from the world cup
Oh yeah, I'm here to stir shit up
I pray on a hill in Brazil
To Christ the Redeemer
But most kids worship us
(Ah!)
I'm just warming up
I'm almost ready
Turn it up a bit more in the headphones
Check me out though, look
These lines show the mentality of Jay-Z while he is getting ready for the game. You must believe in yourself and be confident while getting ready. He prays to Christ the Redeemer in hope that he gets rewarded with that great performance. He obviously is a good player since the little kids worship him and most likely want to be just like him.

The jungle that is referred to in the hook of this song is basically everything you have to deal with. A jungle is hard to get through and you must be very strong and you must believe in yourself if you want to get through it and be happy. The God of the streets is you. Everything relies on you and you must try your hardest to complete your tasks.

There's records to break, medals to take
Flags to wave, the city is ours
There's ceilings to climb, the road winds
Only lights is those from a Beamer
It's nice to pray in front of Christ the Redeemer
The records to break and medals to take are the rewards for what you will accomplish if you overcome your problems and do what you want to do. The characters in this song also feel like they are on top of the world once they overcome their problems so they feel as if the city now belongs to them. However these problems will almost never end. You need to be strong in order to keep going on and to be happy.

If your God is bigger than my God up there
My God bigger than your God down here
Whom shall I fear?
It's foretold by Calogero, you know, most Bronx tales don't end well
Especially when your own country treats you like an infidel
There's odds against it ends well
Don't box me into the corner, I
Float like a butterfly, sting like Muhammad A
My training day I go too hard, ask Antoine Fuqua
I am Godzilla of these favelas, new God flow
These lines can be taken multiple ways. I see them as Jay-Z basically saying "Believe in what you want and I will believe in what i want." The lines " Don't box me into the corner, I Float like a butterfly, sting like Muhammad A" basically state the Jay-Z is very strong and is willing to fight out of any situation. He will try and better himself so that you can not be better than him at any given time. These lines also use a simile to describe Jay-Z.
