The lyrics are from Hiro. He thanks his brother for showing him that being the best at being in trouble was not all that he had to be. Hiro is telling his brother that he will keep in his memories and dreams. He knows his brother's time has run out and he is what's left. ("I am the sand in the bottom half of the hourglass.") The first time the phrase ("Pull the blackout curtains down") is used, Hiro references his own morning. By the end of the song, Hiro hopes he will have lived out Tadashi's legacy (his brother) Tadashi and Big Hero 6 (the group of heroes) will be immortal in the memories of others as they leave the "forever" Hiro lives.
Now for Tadashi, ("if we leave forever now") those left behind "Pull the blackout curtains down" to mourn them. I’m literary in love with this song, the lyrics are amazing. The singer sings very well. The song has a cool build up, and when Patrick starts to sing it starts to build up even more. And when I'm ready for that drop the chorus (which is nice, by the way) lacks that drop I was waiting for, so I advise you to listen to this song.
