The lyrics of the song is basically telling a story of love. The writer is describing everything starting from the day that he met the girl up to the present day. He is expressing how he loves the girl so much and that he wants the girl to stay and don't let go whatever happens to their relationship. All he wanted is for them to stay old, have kids, live together till the end and basically live happily ever after.

Summertime sadness for me sounds like short time relationship. It's like you went to a place for a holiday, met someone, gone on a date or what so ever and within a short period of time, you suddenly fell in love. After the holiday, you have to leave the place along with the memories that you have with that person and by the time that you have left the place, you'll never know if that person will have another lover of could have found a person that will actually stay for good. It's kinda sad if you're going to think about it deeply.

One of my favorite song ever! This song reminds me of the memories that I had before with someone I have loved so much. It reminds me of the things the we've planned, places we want to go and occasions that we will celebrate. It reminds me of the things that we have done together and the struggles we have been through. When I listen to this song, I remember how we talk and we laugh. It reminds me of the times that we traveled and had a tattoo together. But after how many months, I just have to let go. It feels like he's not for me. As time goes by, I feel like he's no longer in need of me specially when he found a job. He stopped communicating to me until the time came that I have to let him go. We broke up but we never had a chance to talk about it personally. It was just so sad that all that we've planned just disappeared. So I'm already gone.
