This part is a little confusing because the boys say pretending from the start because which is more of a "I don't want anything to do with you until your ready to be real." And then they get into more of a "When your ready I can fix you, I am here for you and I'll be ready for you if your willing to take my help." Which is kind of contradicting, but definitely makes for good music!!!!!!!

Niall is saying that she has been sad and down since they split and so has he, they aren't the same. And the polo reference is definitely a good one considering he wore them often. The way he says it he also makes his voice drop a few octaves making him sound like he really feels for what he is saying.
