It means she runs from her problems, like in the song Jet Black Heart "every fire i've ignited, faded to grey' They both mean, she tries to solve her problems, but ends up making the situation bigger. She runs, because she can't figure out what she has done. She can't keep her promises, and ends up breaking off any friendship she has.

The girl is still lying, and her boyfriend still doesn't know truth or lie. As it says in the song 'what are you telling me?' It's a reference meaning can you please tell me what you're saying is a lie or truth. He basically has given up on trying to figure her out. So he asks her one more time, but still doesn't get an answer.
