This whole line of lyric is about the Santana High School shooting on March 5th, 2001, where 15 year old Charles Williams walked into the school and shot around 30 shots in the school, killing 2 and wounding multiple others. The group who wrote this song was only a few minutes away from the area of the shooting, and while they were at a coffee shop for a break, he saw fire trucks and police cars everywhere and turned on the TV and saw what was happening, and that's what a lot of the song is based off of.
