We, all at one time or another have felt as though all the light had left our life, there is usually a cause, maybe a relationship we valued has failed, or we have lost through death a loved one. Maybe our finances are in danger, all of these, and more can bring a feeling of depression, or of being in a dark place, that dark place is referred to in this song as shadows. When we go to Jesus at these times, in prayer crying from the heart our disappointment, pain, or sorrow, we will find Him (Jesus) right there with us ready to comfort, or help us carry a load that seems more than we can bear. The song is basically, encouraging us to put out care upon Jesus, because that is why He is there.
