Da da da da da da da da...

Hell had you by the throat
You never got to heaven
But you got real close

Your past has you in a chokehold,
But you deserve it from what I've been told
Call my bluff, say what you want,
I'm looking down at you from the top,
I beg for attention in small doses,
Leave the scene smelling of dead roses

Loverboy, you're playing those hearts like toys,
Don't you feel bad, don't you feel bad?
Feel bad for them
?

This is your night with arms wide open,
I'm the option you shouldn't have chosen,
Scared of the dark, the door's wide open
This is a night you'll regret in the morning.

Loverboy, you're playing those hearts like toys,
Don't you feel bad, don't you feel bad?
Feel bad for them?
If given the choice would you do it again?
Of course I would, of course I should,
Well I'm your friend, friends with benefits.

Da da da da da da da da...
Loverboy, you're playing those hearts like toys,
Don't you feel bad, don't you feel bad?
Feel bad for them?
If given the choice would you do it again?
Of course I would, of course I should,
Well I'm your friend, friends with benefits.

I think its about a guy who does around using girls and breaking their hearts, they dont see that its wrong as they are friends with benefits but it could also mean that he is talking to the loverboy and telling him what he thinks.

Good song i think it's because there's two friends(with benifits) and the boy wants more but the girl leads him on and leaves him.

I love this song. It helps me calm down. I think it's about a girl who's playing boys and breaking their hearts but this is the last boy she'll play

I love this song so much, the meaning of it to me is trying to say there trying to get a girls heart but they can't, and it's tearing them apart there trying so hard, its there friends but they'll give up the friendship to be with her! :,)

I got that it's a boy. Only because they say lover-boy. He's basically a player and he uses women's emotions to sleep with them by first making them think he's a good friend. "well I'm your friend" after he gets what he wants his victim thinks they have a relationship together. (After his plentiful lies of love)he leaves and uses the excuse that they were only friends with benefits and nothing more and moves on to the next prey! When they say "of course I would, of course I should" this is the player saying he feels no remorse for what he's doing and thinks that his victims deserve what they got. Maybe a girl did this to the player in his past so he just repeats what was done to him. That's might be why the song starts of with "your past has you in the chokehold"
