Think about the love inside the strength of heart
Think about the heroes saving life in the dark
Climbing higher through the fire, time was running out
Never knowing you weren't going to be coming down alive
But you still came back for me
You were strong and you believed
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.
Be strong. Believe.
Think about the chance I never had to say
Thank you for giving up your life that day
Never fearing, only hearing voices calling out
Let it all go, the life that you know, just to bring it down alive
And you still came back for me
You were strong and you believed
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe. [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/y/yellowcard/believe.html ]
(Again today, we take into our hearts and minds those who perished on this site one year ago, and also those who came to toil in the rubble to bring order out of chaos, to help us make sense of our despair)
Wanna hold my wife when I get home
Wanna tell the kids they'll never know how much I love to see them smile
Wanna make a change or two right now
Wanna live a life like you somehow
Wanna make your sacrifice worthwhile
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.
Think about the love inside the strength of heart
Think about the heroes saving life in the dark
Think about the chance I never had to say
Thank you for giving up your life that day
(The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here)
Not a song meaning, but why is the video posted made in [insert name of country that drives on the left here] and its not even about the world trade centers. I really think this songs meaning shouldn't be misconstrued into a love song and just be a song of respect for the firefighters who died on 9/11. Can someone attempt to change the video for this song plz?
This song pays tribute to the bravery, courage, optimism and perseverance of the firefighters who lost their lives trying to rescue people trapped in the world trade center towers after the terrorist attacks in new york city on september 11, 2001. The lyrics describe the experiences of these firefighters who entered the world trade center towers in attempts to save people, completely unaware that the sturctures were about to collapse. The persona of the lyrics is a person who was saved by the firefighters. They are describing the enormous gratitude that they feel, and the new approach to life that being a victim of the attacks has given them. The repetition of "everything is gonna be alright" serves to reflect the words of the firefighters. The excerpts in brackets are new york city mayor, michael bloomberg's address on the first anniversary of 9/11 and abraham lincoln's famous gettysburg address which was repeated for 9/11 victims.
Okay, so after posting that last comment and listening to the song and watching the video about a million times, i have come to realize i was completely wrong. It's more about the happenings on 9/11 and how grateful he is for all the heroes that went in to help. With it all, he also realized that he could very well have been a victim of that tragic day, thus the verse "wanna hold my wife when i get home... "
Wow, where do i start with this song. This song is so deep and meaningful i get chills everytime i hear it. It kinda jumps back and forth which can make it confusing. I feel the song is a tribute to the soldiers, or maybe one inparticular, and how grateful he is. I also think that in the verse that begins "wanna hold my wife when i get home" is more of what it would be like had he joined the service. I'm not too sure the meaning behind all of it, but that's my intake. I'm looking forward for some other thoughts on this...
