Take the ribbons from your hair shake 'em loose and let 'em fall
Let 'em fall against your chin like the shadows on the wall
Come and lay down by my side till the early morning light
All I'm taking is your time help me make it through the night
Well I don't care who's right or wrong and I won't try to understand
Let the devil take tomorrow cause tonight I need a friend
Yesterday is dead and gone and tomorrow's out of sight
And it's sad to be alone help me make it through the night
[Guitar]
Well I don't care who's right or wrong...
I can't stand to be alone help me make it through the night

Willie Nelson is a great singer, I think this song means that he wants to have sex and just be with his girl...

My grandfather told me that this song reminds him of his service in vietnam. The rockets came at night... "help me make it through the night. "

eddie hazel used to call me and what to come to my house from 1968 - 1983. i wore my hair up, and he'd take it down and run his fingers through it. in 1983 he looked so sad. i later found out he had married that year. this song always reminds me of our last night together.
