There's a flame, flame in my heart
And there's no rain, can put it out
And there's a flame, it's burning in my heart
And there's no rain, ooh can put it out
So just hold me, hold me, hold me [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/w/wasp/hold_on_to_my_heart.html ]
Take away the pain, inside my soul
And I'm afraid, so all alone
Take away the pain, it's burning in my soul
Cause I'm afraid that I'll be all alone
So just hold me, hold me, hold me
Hold on to my heart, to my heart, to me
Hold on to my heart, to my heart, to me
Oh no, don't let me go cause all I am
You hold in your hands, hold me
And I'll make it through the night
And I'll be alright, hold on, hold on to my heart
The love of my life listened to this song over nad over after we broke up. I still love him so much to this day. We met eleven years ago, broke up nine years ago, and i stll love him and see and spend time with him to this very day. We still love each other very much. He dedicated this song (one of many) to me two nights ago. Everytime i hear it i cry because although we love each other, i'm not sure we can be together.
What does this song mean to me? : a couple of things; firstly i use it to pray, or while i am praying as it is pretty much most everything i say to god during my prayer time, secondly i listen to it when i am in severe pain (i sustained a serious back injury some years ago and have been left with permanent pain which can be severe at times). I especially love the live acoustic version that is on disc two of the crimson idol anniversary album. I find that listening to blackie sing this way is very soothing, which allows me to meditate a little and that in turn helps me to get my pain under control. Blackie i cannot thank you enough, x.
