Walk Off The Earth – Somebody That I Used To Know lyrics

In the first set of lyrics (beginning with the line "now and then i think of when we used to be together"), the man claims that he both felt love for a woman and felt emptiness inside himself at the same time, and that he felt free and relieved of the pressures of dating when they broke up.
He then adds in the chorus that he felt she treated him like an asset, something she didn't need to be happy.
In the next set of lyrics ("now and then i think of all the times you screwed me over"), however, the woman puts her side of the relationship in, claiming that she left because she felt the man was trying to gain authority over her and that he lied to her when he said he was okay with breaking up and then lamented over the break-up.
The two have different views of the breakup, and they've agreed to not talk about it and continue on with their lives.

I feel its the well put truth, a break up is never mutual. The girl is in love with the boy but she tolorates things till she is fed up and then breaks up. Although she says that they be friends, she is reminded only of the bad times and she changes her contact details so the boy can't get in touch. As expected the boy who is shown to be ever so dominating can't handle this.
