What else is there to say. Let there be peace to all us people no fighting ever. Jesus said he came here to bring the sword but right after that he said he who takes up the sword will perish bye the sword... Remmeber doe's it make sense.

I loved the way the late great queen of gospel music, albertina walker sang this song one time on a television program. It simplly means to the inhabitants of this planet, abide in perfect harmony among each other. No hate, no prejudice, no confusion, none of that. But you as an individual be the 1rst to show how that can be done by adjusting one's own attitude. "let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me! "

Peace is having a calm within yourself which comes from knowing god and inviting him to take control of your life. His love abiding in you causes you to spread a positive influence to all. It is making an effect to love the unlovable. Having peace quiets troubled minds and becomes an enviable gift.

This song has always been within my heart since i sang it in elementry school in my choir. I grew up in a household that was abusive and i was one of the victims of that abuse until i was 13. I would sing this over and over within me now i know that peace can truly only really come from within. Not outward circumstances

"let there be peace on earth" means to me: when god has first place in my heart, then can i truly love my brother or my sister. Because then i would want what's best for them, just as god only wants what's best for me. I'll take it another step further, only god knows what's best for me! Know god, know peace!
