Vertical Horizon – You're A God lyrics

I've got to be honest
I think you know
I'm covered in lies and that's okay
There's somewhere beyond this I know
But I hope I can find the words to say

Never again, no
No never again

Chorus
'Cause you're a God
And I am not
And I just thought
That you would know
You're a God
And I am not
And I just thought
I'd let you go

But I've been unable
To put you down
I'm still learning things I ought to know by now
It's under the table so
I need something more to show somehow

Never again no
No never again

You're a God
And I am not
And I just thought
That you would know
You're a God
And I am not
And I just thought
I'd let you go

I've got to be honest
I think you know
I'm covered in lies and that's okay
There's somewhere beyond this I know
I hope I can find the words to say
Never again no
No never again

You're a God
And I am not
And I just thought
That you would know
You're a God
And I am not
And I just thought
I'd let you go

    Such an inspiring song.
Let me put it this way. The lyrics to me are meat to signify that you believe your partner is higher up than you are. You can't let them go even though you are thinking about doing that, "i've been unable, to put you down". You've made mistakes with this person and you don't want to make the same mistakes again "never again, no".
Now I researched this song a bit and the lyric writer states that this song is about any kind of relationship (your boss, friend, family member, etc.) and he says that its basically saying that the power they had over you is now over and that you have looked past them.
Hope this may give you a little insight on the song!

I've always wanted to say something about this song, I've been listening to it for years and now I get my chance.
You find that one, not the one you'll spend the rest of your life with but one that tops the list for a very long time(for many reasons besides the obvious), you're definitely in over your head as much as you are head over heels with this one.
The sad thing is you'll try to capture and keep so many of the moments for the little time you have together(one of nature's torments).
This is not always a good thing, you'll obsess over these after she's gone and you'll miss the many good things that cross your tracks.
Or maybe it's just me. Or maybe the songs just an easy let down!
