I knew this would be hell,
But this is not living.

Push them down and exhale water
Push them down and exhale blood. x2

You wanted this
And if we can't even trust ourselves
How can we trust anyone else.

It's not safe to swim today
It's not safe to swim today
It's not safe to swim today,
It's not safe...

I don't think I can be saved. x2
This shallow water is my grave.
I don't think I can be saved.

Exhale blood
Push them down and exhale water
Push them down and exhale blood.

No, not really. It means the society.'This shallow water' would be the shallow dudes of society who judge people by their appearance. And, apparently, he can't stand it, so it's his grave.

That it is amazing. Marc okubo has major talent he wrote most of the music and hearing them play this live was insane! Amazing lyrics the meaning to me is that they are trapped in shallow water with no escape so it will become their grave. Exhale water and blood

It's about a females menstrual cycle. Basically a song about fear and distrust. Letting oneself partake in "blood and water. " all of it metaphors for menstrual cycle.

I think its about blood and breathing, maybe the singer is not safe in work, maybe he or they are afraid of sharks and that only swimming in shallow water is him living his life being afraid of the ocean and sharks

Just a thought, it could be about baptism. He can't be saved, and baptisms are performed in shallow water. He can't trust anyone else or himself with the process or religion... Just a thought
