Blindfold me tie me up or tie me down yeah take me anywhere
Keep your ears close to the ground
Listen to me but don抰 die laughing
And all things must end yeah
But I can see my fate in your eyes
As I抦 stitched up by my friends again
They just can抰 defend the state of things between

You and me
Used to be on fire

So slip off your shackles
Cause you don抰 need them where we抮e going
See what happens just happens
There ain抰 no straight lines in the state of things
So try to cling on for dear life
And don抰 forget the world keeps on turning round despite

You and me
Used to be on fire

Now look now
See when we抮e going
I don抰 know where I抦 going
I don抰 know

Someone (e.g person a) who is desperately in love with someone (e.g person b) who is extremely domineering and feels that this person (person b) may have fallen out of love with them. Person a is scared for their future as a couple and thinks that person b will probably end the relationship very soon. "slip off your shackles" probably means the domineering person (b) will no longer need to control them anymore as they are soon to split up. It also seems that the domineering person out of the relationship disapproves of their lover's (person a) friends who try to split them up because they can see that their friend (person a) is being controlled and may end up getting hurt by person b.

    Hope this makes sense!
