This is about that perfect moment in time where you're making a memory that'll last forever and you're with the perfect mix of people or friends. You look good and feel great. You're dancing and the music just owns you. And if you're lucky, you hook up with someone who has a special place in your heart. If you're not part of this moment in time, you're not anywhere. You're having the time of your life and you're grateful to the people you shared it with. There's a double entendre associated or at least those of us with our minds in the gutter wish to believe that I'm sure the songwriter is aware of.

He's glad that she came. Being with her has changed his life.
I'm not sure that "time is slipping away" refers to any specific external force that will prevent them from seeing each other. It might just be that life is short, and they have to make the most of what they have.
Personally, this song makes me think of my horse. I have been an animal person, and a horse lover all of my life. But I've never been quite so close to an animal before I had him. He's my horse, regardless of who owns him and other people who ride him, and I'm his person. Before him I generally had plans or ideas about what would come next, but now there's nothing but him.
Like I said before, "time is slipping away" makes me consider my own inevitable mortality. I (or he) could die tomorrow, and I'm not religious so I'm pretty sure that this is it. "all that counts is here and now".
I just love him so much, and I have to make the most of the time we've got together.

I'm a christian, and I will go to heaven when I die and god loves you just ask him in your heart. And you will go to heaven to. But if you don't you will go to hell and burn in fire for ever and ever! Please think about it he loves you he died on the cross for your sins. He is god.
