There's a hole in your logic
You who know all the answers
You claim science aint magic
And expect me to buy it

And Goodbye Mr A
You promised you would love us
But you knew too much
Goodbye Mr A
You had all the answers
But no human touch
If life is subtraction
Your number is up
Your love is a fraction
It's not adding up

Oh-Oh-Oh-Oh
(Oh-Oh-Oh-Oh)
(Oh-Oh-Oh-Oh)
(Oh-Oh-Oh-Oh-Oh-Oh-Oh)

So busy showing me where i'm wrong
You forgot to switch your feelings on
Oh-Oh-Oh
So so superior, ard you not
You love a little bit but you forgot

Goodbye Mr A
You promised you would love us
But you knew too much
Goodbye Mr A
You had all the answers
But no human touch
If life is subtraction
Your number is up
Your love is a fraction
It's not adding up

Oh-Oh-Oh-Oh
(Oh-Oh-Oh-Oh)
(Oh-Oh-Oh-Oh)
(Oh-Oh-Oh-Oh-Oh-Oh-Oh)

(Goodbye Mr A)
(Goodbye Mr A)

Goodbye Mr A
The world was full of wonder till you opened my eyes
Goodbye Mr A
(Goodbye Mr A)
Wish you hadn't blown my mind and killed the suprise
Goodbye Mr A
You promised you would love us but you knew to much
Goodbye Mr A
You had all the answers
But no human touch
If life is subtraction
Your number is up
Your love is a fraction
It's not adding up

(Oh-Oh-Oh-Oh)

Whoever posted in September of last year, there's no need to be arrogant. Music is supposed to be interpreted, not just by the musician but by the listener. Any musician that's worth listening to knows that. Don't ever mock someone else's interpretation, no matter how ridiculous it is.
Personally, I always related this song to a teacher I had in high school, except she was a woman and taught chemistry, not math. She was always so cold to her students. She knew what she was teaching us, but she didn't really teach us. She gave us the information, told us to teach it to ourselves, and never once let us do any experiments at all, so we never really learned anything.
I had, prior to being placed in her class, planned on pursuing a career in chemistry, but she made it so absolutely boring that I lost what interest I had once had. Chemistry lost that 'magic' feel for me thanks to a teacher who didn't care at all about what she was teaching, and that's always been my interpretation of 'Goodbye Mr. A.'

Some of the reasons posted on here are laughable as they have actually said in interviews its about finding out there maths teacher had died and they did like him he was just a hard teacher and they respected him

Also, to add to thelast comment, its saying that mr a didn't give them the answersa to maths questions hwen he knew them, but thats the point, and the hoosiers are being cheeky insaying that.

Mr a. Is a really smart person and they don't like him so they are getting rid of him by shooting him in a rocket.

My ex husband was called andy (mr a) and he was quite cold, showed me where i was wrong and never showed his feelings. I don't know if he had any, walking away was so easy for him. Even though he was the silent type, i thought he had the human squidgy bit somewhere buried deep but i really don't think that he did. Lasted 15 years - you can invent an imaginary friend out of someone that doesn't communicate!
