Hmm... hmm...
Mmm... mmm...

I remember the rain
The signs of springtime
There were birds, music everywhere
Everywhere

Some of us played, oh, yeah
And some of us cried
Can't you see, oh, can't you see
The tears in my eyes

And what I had dreamed of, oh... Lordy (What I had dreamed of)
I thought it was here
10 feet tall, oh...
I was ridin' so high
With eyes of a child, oh... (Eyes of a child)
Shinin' so bright, yes, they were

Coldest days of my life
They were the coldest days of my life
I had to run for cover, yeah, yeah, yeah (Had to run for cover, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
The cold-coldest days of my life
I thought there was no other, no, no (Thought there was no other, no, no, no, no)

Lord, take away (Take it) the pain (Take it)
Oh, you know, you know that it was (Take it, take it)
And it couldn't be (Take it) much worse
Down below
Down below
Down belw
It just couldn't be that bad
Ooh... below
It just couldn't be that bad
Ooh... down below
Oh, down, down
Down below
Here all alone, yeah
Ooh... down below
Ooh... down below
Ooh... down below
Ooh... down below

Ooh... ooh...

I remember the rain
The signs of springtime
I'm trying to keep the past behind me
But voices suddenly remind me
That she's gone

She's what I had dreamed, oh... (What I had dreamed of)
She's all that I think of

Coldest days of my life
They were the coldest days of my life
I thought there was no other, no, no (Thought there was no other, no, no, no, no)
The cold-coldest days of my life

I had to run for cover, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
(Had to run for cover, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
The cold-coldest days of my life
I had to run for cover, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
(Had to run for cover, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)

The coldest days of my life
I thought there was no other, no, no (Thought there was no other, no, no, no, no)
The cold-coldest days of my life
I thought there was no other, no, no (Thought there was no other, no, no, no, no)

The cold-coldest days of my life
I had to run for cover, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
(Had to run for cover, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Coldest days of my life
Coldest days of my life

Listen to the background noises and you will know what it means to be lonely or to lose someone you loved. Forget the lyrics. Nobody's perfect. This is a great, great song when you are in dispear and want to ponder your thoughts.

The coldest days of my life: when you have friends around you and yet you feel so lonely cause there's nobody(girl/boy) in your life to be in love. That is the coldest days of my life.

Some of the lyrics given here are incorrect. The song says, "i thought it was here", not "i thought it was him. " another part that is miswritten is, "it couldn't be much worse down the low. " that should say, .. "down below. It then repeats, "ooh, down below. " i did not post my opinion about the meaning of the song, but perhaps having the correct words might influence one's perception about the meaning.

I think that he is remembering childhood dreams, hopes and expectaions. I think he is mourning the loss of innocence... However it does wreak of tragic loss of a loved one. I think he was describing himself that at one time in his life he was riding high and he felt as if he was ten feet tall. Then the object of his desire either left or passed on. The coldest days of his life was when he had to give an appearance that he was alright but he was really crumbling inside and needed to run for emotional cover...

Beautiful melody, nice harmony, excellent voices; but, the meaning isn't perfectly clear to me. It seems obvious that the singer is lamenting a sad loss, but I'm unsure exactly what. Early in the song he refers to " ... what I had dreamed of ... i thought it was him ... ten feet tall ..." And later, there is "She's what I had dreamed .. She's all I could think of ..." Oh, could he be remembering his mother and father?
