I was out of your league
And you were 20,000 underneath the sea
Waiving affections
You were out of my league
At a distance that I didn't wanna see
Down to the bottom

I wanted a junction and often there was one
You'd surface face first and we'd share our thought bubbles
And I still believe in the phrases that we breathed
But I know the distance isn't fair to cross

I was out of your league
And you were 20,000 underneath the sea
Waiving affections
You were out of my league
At a distance that I didn't wanna see
Wanted you nearer

Your depths made a pressure that punctured my works and all your fluids couldn't tolerate the force of my thirst
I love the place where we shared our tiny grace
But because it's real doesn't mean it's gonna work

I was out of your league
And you were 20,000 underneath the sea
Waiving affections
You were out of my league
At a distance that I didn't wanna see
Wanted you nearer

And true affection floats
True affections sinks like a stone
I never felt so close
I never felt so all alone

I was out of your league
And you were 20,000 underneath the sea
Waiving affections
You were out of my league
At a distance that I didn't wanna see
Wanted you nearer

A love story involving the speaker and her friend. Both may have genuine feelings for the other and have shown their affections, but are too full of doubt and insecurity to be any bolder and come closer, putting the other out of their league.

Books have already been written, ergo no need to write more books.

Impersonating someone is clever in that way only when the audience is aware of the ruse. Otherwise, the experience is genuine, albeit not the same as the one you had way before them which makes you a far better person... At least in your mind.

    Sincerely,

I feel its a frail, lifeless love song that is catchy in the way that impersonating someone is clever. They are playing on the good old romantic classic indie like band of horses which are not so creative either, so i finish with indie is dead and young girls killed it. Lol

    Sincerely, cohbreezy
