Down in the waves
She screams again
Roar at the door
My mind can't take much more
I could never drown it

They wanna get my
They wanna get my
Gold on the ceiling
I ain't blind
Just a matter of time
Before you steal it
It's alright
Ain't no god in my eye

Clouds covered love's
Barbed-wire snare
Strung up, strung out
I just can't go without

I could never drown it

They wanna get my
They wanna get my
Gold on the ceiling
I ain't blind
Just a matter of time
Before you steal it
It's alright
Ain't no god in my eye

They wanna get my
They wanna get my
Gold on the ceiling
I ain't blind
Just a matter of time
Before you steal it
It's alright
Ain't no god in my eye

Um that is probably not the meanin, gold can be a metaphore for anything. I see it as a hidden something. Could be the very lyrics framed on a ceiling or wall he considers gold because maybe he veiws his writing as his livelyhood. Creativity cannot be drowned, cannot b stiffled even if stolen and maybe his gold is his woman and they want to get his gold. His girl, on the ceiling, so high shes on the ceiling so to speak. They wanna get my woman so high shes lost. So they can have a chance at her. But theyd just drown her creatively and a lyric I wrote in 82 also matches this----if you like what you see. Youll take it eventually. Same meaning, covet thy neighbors chick!
