I can't believe what she said
I can't believe what he did
Oh, don't they know it's wrong?
Don't they know it's wrong?

Well maybe there's something I missed
But how could they treat me like this?
It's wearing out my heart
The way they disregard

This is love. This is hate.
We all have a choice to make

Oh, Father won't You forgive them?
They don't know what they've been doin' (oh no)
Oh, Father, give me grace to forgive them
Cause I feel like the one losin'

It's only the dead that can live
But still I wrestle with this
To lose the pain that's mine
Seventy times seven times

Lord it doesn't feel right
For me to turn a blind eye
But I guess it's not that much
When I think of what You've done.

This is love. This is hate.
We've got a choice to make

Oh, Father, won't You forgive them?
They don't know what they've been doin'
Oh, Father, give me grace to forgive them
Cause I feel like the one losin' (oh no)

Why do we think that hate's gonna change their heart?
We're up in arms over wars that don't need to be fought
But pride won't let us lay our weapons on the ground
We build our bridges up, but just to burn them down
We think pain is owed apologies and them it'll stop
But truth be told it doesn't matter if they're sorry or not
Freedom comes when we surrender to the sound
Of Mercy and Your Grace, Father, send Your angels down (singin')

Oh, Father, won't you forgive them?
They don't know what they've been doing (oh, no)
Oh, Father, give me grace to forgive them
Cause I feel like the one losing
I feel like I've been losing

Oh Father won't you forgive them
They don't know what they've been doin'
Oh Father, give me grace to forgive them
Cause I feel like the one losin'
I feel like I've been losing

Oh, Father, give me grace to forgive them
Cause I feel like the one losin'

As it is said, unforgiving is like poisoning a rat, and taking the poison then waiting for the rat to die. However hard it is to forgive, we should always learn to lay it down to the lord, and not carry it with us again. Many people may think we are turning a blind eye on things by not revenging, getting angry or mad. At times we also tend to feel like we are losing or like we are kinda foolish, but god commands us to forgive seventy times seventy. When we lay our anger and bitterness at the feet of jesus, we don't have to carry them with us again. This song is just awesome!

I'm struggling with this. I had to take my children and run from an abusive marriage. And, now to protect my children from him and children's aid, i've signed custody over to my parents. I feel like i've been losing for a while. Please pray that i can find the grace to forgive.

I feel that if i can't have the heart of christ i am just like those who have hate in their hearts.. It is a struggle to love (to be selfless) when the world is so self centered.

I feel like he's been hurt really badly, like his girlfriend cheated on him with his best friend (first verse). He knows that they just haven't found the maturity and wisdom to understand why that's wrong, but he does have that maturity and wisdom, and now he has a choice to make love them, as God would want him to and as God did for him, for all three of them or resent them and hold that hate in his heart forever. He knows that holding a grudge won't solve anything and that the only way any of them can heal from this is if he sets his friends and himself free and forgive.

The majority of this song irks me.... I agree with the "why do we think that hate's going to change their heart..." section, but I don't why the rest of the the song bothers me so much.
