Tamela Mann – Take Me To The King lyrics
Chorus:
Take Me To The King
I don't have much to bring
My heart is torn in pieces
It's my offering
Take Me To The King

Verse 1:
Truth is I'm tired
Options are few
I'm trying to pray
But where are you?
I'm all churched out
Hurt and abused
I can't fake
What's left to do
?

Truth is I'm weak
No strength to fight
No tears to cry
Even if I tried
But still my soul
Refuses to die
One touch-will change-my life

Chorus:
Take Me To The King
I don't have much to bring
My heart's torn into pieces
It's my offering

Lay me at the throne
Leave me there alone
To gaze upon Your glory
And sing to You this song
Please Take Me To The King

Verse 2:
Truth is it's time
To stop playing these games
We need a word
For the people's pain

So Lord speak right now
Let it fall like rain
We're desperate
We're chasing after you

Bridge:
No rules, no religion
I've made my decision
To run to You
The healer that I need

Chorus:
Take Me To The King
I don't have much to bring
My heart's torn to pieces
It's my offering

Lay me at the throne
Leave me there alone
To gaze upon Your glory
And to sing to You this song

Take Me To The

Lord we're in the way
We keep making mistakes
Glory is not for us
It's all for You

Chorus

Take Me To The King
I don't have much to bring
My heart's torn to pieces
It's my offering

Lay me at the throne
Leave me there alone
To gaze upon Your glory
And sing to You this song

I looking up for you. I looking up although the enemy of life is about me trying to tear me down and keep me down. So long I walked with my head high and not hearing or seeing he evil this world does and knowing it will all be okay. But here I am with my thoughts on you and my vision is becoming blurry in the heat of the battle that life has given. Oh lord what shall I do. I'm looking unto you to guilde me in the waters, guide me in den, guide me in wilderness, guide me through gethsemane. I'm praying what to do. What to do. I'm praying with so much might. Blood is running into the crinkles of my eyes. And still in all that I feel and all that is still to be done. I fine joy and comfort in knowing you are pleased with me and the decision to openly server and be used of you. I'm standing and hear the soldiers of fear. But yet I will fear no evil for thou my god, my rock, my shelter, my usher of all ushers art with me. Until I see you face-to-face. Art with me!

I have absolutely nothing left but my plead to my King and if my King is not withing reach of what it takes for me to fall and touch just the hem of his garment at this very instance I will be no more. Oh Lord I'm falling and I have no strength but to fall into your arms of safety. Save me Lord. I'm at my end where you begin to lift and empower me to say My King no only caught me but revived me to live again and to believe again and to have a life again. Please Lord without you I can move for in your I have my very destiny to be called into your present and be called to fulfill my purpose in your that your ordained long ago before the world knew me and only You I knew and now I fall down to be lifted up to the throne room of your feet to the height and deep of your love and merch. Yes bring me to King for his mercy will give me back the life he breathe into me in the days of silver and gold. At my address called Heaven!

I think this song is a connection song. Always in our dire straights we can go to jesus and we can saturate ourselves in his love. Although we should always give our best to god, but in our worst I believe is when he can work on us better & rebuild & restore us. Thank god the veil was ripped and we too can go beyond and have a personal relationsip with jesus. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Take me to the king so I can be renewed in thee.

This too will come to pass. Oh in the beginning it seems great to even know you would use me in this way to allow my life to be an example of what is to come to pass. But somewhere in the "coming to pass". It became heavy. A burden. Could this be a mistake? Oh no for my God makes no mistake and all mishaps is an opportunity to turn around and make a victory in the Glory of God. This too will come to pass. I've even gotten use to the cycle of the life to where I have become content. But now you want a new thing, a change has happened in the stream of life and I'm not sure if I want what was promised or happy where I am. This too will come to pass. I'm older than I was when this started and now at the end I look back with gladness that yes. It truly did come to pass. I keep the faith and stood the time of the battle to victory and can say. It truly did come to pass and not becaue of me but because I keep believing in the God and Son of Jesus Christ.

In the book of Revelation, chapter 2, Christ addresses the seven churches. The first church, Ephesus, had many good works - they were patient, did not tolerate evil, sought our liars, labored for Christ, yet, they were guilty of this one thing: they had left their first love. To me, this song seems to embrace the idea of a person who realizes that they have left their first love. At one time in my life, as a Christian, I too left my first love. I went to church, read my bible, prayed daily, worked in church ministries, all good things a Christian should do. The only thing missing was my true love and devotion to the one I served. It was like taking care of a household by cleaning the house, fixing the food, washing the clothes yet failing to develop a relationship with the family members within the household. I failed to sit at the feet of Jesus, totally immersed in His glory! I had left my first love.... Oh Lord Jesus, let my heart be submitted to you. I give my self to you, Lord. It's all I have to give. Be the King of my life. Amen!
