Simple Plan – Welcome To My Life lyrics

Do you ever feel like breaking down?
Do you ever feel out of place?
Like somehow you just don't belong
And no one understands you?

Do you ever wanna runaway?
Do you lock yourself in your room?
With the radio on turned up so loud
So no one hears you screaming

No you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels all right
You don't know what it's like
To be like me

Chorus
To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked
When you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like

Welcome to my life

Do you wanna be somebody else?
Are you sick of feeling so left out?
Are you desperate to find something more?
Before your life is over

Are you stuck inside a world you hate?
Are you sick of everyone around?
With their big fake smiles and stupid lies
While deep inside you're bleeding?

No you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels all right
You don't know what it's like
To be like me

Chorus
To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked
When you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like

Welcome to my life

No one ever lied straight to your face
No one ever stabbed you in the back
You might think I'm happy
But I'm not gonna be okay
Everybody always gave you what you wanted
Never had to work, it was always there
You don't know what it's like, what it's like

Chorus
To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked
When you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like (What it's like)

Chorus
To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked
When you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like

Welcome to my life
Welcome to my life
Welcome to my life

I think this is an amazing song, and I only love this song because its so compassionate. I feel this way all the time, but I tend to sing this song and just think about life in it's basics. I might not be a victum of a 3rd world country but my life isn't smooth. I live this way. And Simple Plan inspire me to become a singer- Which is an all time dream of mine and when I write songs I love to refer back to their songs and think to my self "Ok, how can I make my songs be compassionate and emotional but still a catchy tune?" By the way, I think they have done a fabulous job :).

This is the first song that really touch my soul, since then I become a fan of Simple Plan. This song literally saved my life when I was in the lowest point of my life back then in 2002, I heard this song, I felt like the singer is giving me the strength to continue, sympathy and companion, that I am not alone, that all people struggles. Before the song ended, I started crying.

Great song. I think one of the reasons why so many people love this song is because of how easy it is to identify with it. Sometimes it just sounds like it was writen specialy for you, and that's what's so great about it. Beacuse everyone has felt like this at some point. Contrary to what nonoy05 says: "this song is really intended for social rejects. th song tries to comfort them when nobody wants to. IM JUST GLAD THAT IM NOT ONE OF THEM!" I think nonoy05 is extremely wrong. Even the most popular person has felt lost and out of place at one point. I'm probably one of the happiest, brightest people you'll ever meet, I'm smiling 99% of the time, and 98% of the time, I mean it. I'm happy, I love my life, but when things aren't going that well, this song never fails to remind me I'm not alone, we all feel like this at times, and it reminds me that I can get over it, and I'm not alone.

'to be kicked when you're down'. A lot of people are never even kicked, nevermind when they're down. The person is tired of no-one understanding how he/she feels and dismissing his/her problems as trivial. People lie to their face every day, and no-one stops to consider their emotions as if they mean nothing. This song is about a person who just wants to escape from the world they hate. From the needless, endless pain.
