Secret And Whisper Anchors lyrics

The ocean dwells in lonely life and storm
How different am I from wooden boat that barely stays afloat?
And too many ropes are tied
And I realize we have to make the best
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/s/secret_and_whisper/anchors.html ]
Give me this moment, I'll wade into the ocean
Anchors drag me down to depths of sea
Where creatures can watch me drown
The hands are reaching in from overboard
The sounds are even too distressed to try and tape record

At first when i read the lyrics, the first thing that came in to my mind was that old movie "perfect storm" wherein this man, the last man was floating on huge sea waves under a storm. But after reading needle's opinion, i think he's right and that made me realize how great this band is (secretandwhisper) to have written such great lyrics. Thumbs up needle and for the band.

I feel like this song talks about all the things in life that hold us down. Which sounds cliche but we all have these things in our past that we hold on to; things that hurt us, that keep ups scared to live. Sorrow is our ocean, and with those things holding you down, your anchors, you can't go anywhere. There's a rope holding you to every anchor. And you never cut them, you just make the best of it until you want to fall into the ocean and drown. But there are hands that want to reach in and pull you back out. And in my opinion those hands have holes...
