In a water tower town, everybody waves
Church doors are the only thing that's open on Sundays
Word travels fast, wheels turn slow
Yeah workin' hard and livin' right is the only life we know

Friday night football is king, sweet tea goes good with anything
Fireflies come out when the sun goes down
Nobody eats 'til you say Amen, and everybody knows your mom and them
You can see who loves who from miles around, in a water tower town

Well your friend's a friend, and your word's your word
And our pickup trucks, they ain't just for looks, they're made for work
Corn grows high, crime stays low
There's little towns everywhere where everybody knows

Friday night football is king, sweet tea goes good with anything
And the girls come out, when the sun goes down
Nobody eats 'til you say Amen, and everybody knows your mom and them
You can see who loves who from miles around, in a water tower town

Friday night football is king, sweet tea goes good with anything
Peace and quiet make such a beautiful sound
Nobody eats 'til you say Amen, and everybody knows your mom and them
You can see who loves who from miles around, in a water tower town

Yeeeaahh in a water tower town

Water tower town is the place all of us long to be! Busy lives, constant worry, i would love to live in a town where people were people. We have all let the wants of our lives take away the simple pleasures. God bless scotty for understanding reality at such a young age. He is truly a role model for the young and old alike. We can all learn from him. Thank you god for sending us scotty! Jeannie

If being simple minded defines scotty, what in the world are you? Arrogrant-definately, young-hopefully, that would excuse you somewhat. Scotty said it best-thanks for listening. Your opinion is yours to have but never let envy get the best of you. Go out and acheive a place of your own and let us all who love scotty continue to share his happiness.

It's "football is king" and "your mom and them" not "football games" or "your mama's name. " also it's "peace and quiet make such a beautiful sound" not "two feet quiet"

It's a song about how small deep south towns know what's up, they know what's really important (and put too much importance in some things, i.e. Football).
