I'm so confused, I must be losing it, this can't be right
I never knew that you could choose to love someone then change your mind
So I just wonder why and was it something I said

You tell me once, you tell me twice, you tell me three times more
Tell me everything I want to hear and nothing more
Cause you know I am on your side no matter what you do

With every consequence it's your defense on why it's mine
And I could take it if I knew just why I waste my time with you
So I just have to find out

Was it something I said to you
Was it something we can't work through
Was it something I made you do
Or was that something you

So let me ask you I just have to now that you're not mine
Do you feel free, have what you need or do you still feel scared inside
Cause I am on the line and don't know what to do
No you know I am on the line so

Was it something I said to you
Was it something we can't work through
Was it something I made you do
Or was that something you

Sometimes I'm bold and brash; and sometimes I'm prone to crash
Sometimes I say too much; and sometimes it's not enough
But I'll never hold you back from something you want so bad
Just tell me so I'm not sad, was it something I said

Something I said to you
Was it something we can't work through
Was it something I made you do
Or was it something I said
To you, To you
Was it something that we just can't work through
Something, Something

To me,this song is about blaming yourself for a realtionship not working out because that person always blames you for every conseqence of their actions, wanting to save a relationship that the other person doesn't want anymore, wanting to know that it wasn't their fault that it ended... I can relate

To me, it means, i may not be perfect or all that you've ever dreamed about.. But we're supposed to love each other and even though i dont say the right thing sometimes.. You told me you were going to love me unconditionally. But... I guess not.

I think I found new meaning to this song, The guy just wants to know if it was his fault that it didn't work out. And if they won't be back again, he won't try anymore, he just needs the reason why.

Do you feel free, have what you need or do you still feel scared inside?..One of the lines that hit me the most.

this song is amazing. reminds me so much of my ex. maybe it's not exactly the same but this song is so helpful when you wonder why someone broke up with you. i've shown this song to all my broken hearted friends and they all say the same thing...

Reminds me of the time me and my ex 1just broke up I could never get why we broke up, how in each of my attempts to win her back, she always rejects, goes with the hand in hand chorus, This song for me says that the guy is trying his best to win her back, and he keeps asking what was the reason they broke up, but in the bridge he only wants her to be happy and is willing to let her go to achieve that happiness,
