Robert Johnson – Love In Vain lyrics

And I followed her to the station, with her suitcase in my hand,
And I followed her to the station, with her suitcase in my hand.
Well, it's hard to tell, it's hard to tell, when all your love's in vain,
All my love's in vain.

When the train rolled up to the station, I looked her in the eye,
When the train rolled up to the station, and I looked her in the eye.
Well, I was lonesome, I felt so lonesome, and I could not help but cry.
All my love's in vain.

When the train, it left the station, there was two lights on behind,
When the train, it left the station, there was two lights on behind,
Well, the blue light was my baby, and the red light was my mind.
All my love's in vain.

Uumh, Willie Mae, Uumh, Willie Mae, Uumh uumh,, all my love's in vain.

So to sum it up. What could the man do to ease his pain.? I think we can in this dilemma maybe learn from muddy waters. And the song: " you can't loose something you aint never had". Maybe just maybe. The man did not loose the love from the woman cause she was not truly in love in the first place. But the woman will eventually / in time loose the love from the man, cause the man was really in love with the woman.

"you can love as much as you want, but if she doesn't your love's in vain" its true. But we can also look at the siytuation this way: the man was so much in love with the woman so that he even cried when she left. Now. How did the man ever fall so badly for the woman if she didn't love him back. Ie. The mans love was all in vain. Maybe the woman wasn't honest with her true feelings.
