Never stop the car on a drive in the dark
Never look for the truth in your mother's eyes
Never trust the sound of rain upon a river
Rushing through your ears

Arriving somewhere but not here

Did you imagine the final sound as a gun?
Or the smashing windscreen of a car?
Did you ever imagine the last thing you'd hear as you're fading out was a song?

All my designs, simplified
And all of my plans, compromised
All of my dreams, sacrificed

Ever had the feeling you've been here before?
Drinking down the poison the way you were taught
Every thought from here on in your life begins
And all you knew was wrong?

Did you see the red mist block your path?
Did the scissors cut a way to your heart?
Did you feel the envy for the sons of mothers tearing you apart?

I think this song is the most beautiful song ever written. The meaning is based on opinion. Never look for the truth in your mothers eyes. Truth! Growing up with someone who is suppose pay attention and brainwashes your innocents. wishing your past not to haunt you which leaves us to arriving somewhere but not here. I rolled my car last year. My mother denys the truth and my pain. I get it! That's just one meaning to this song, but meanings are endless.

Death laughs at the meaning we give to our lives, the endless destinations we set, bypassing things of value without a clue. Then again, it's almost like you're just helplessly along for the ride. "been here before. " and moving on once again...

For me is the start of something new, to know a new thought, know another truth, your own true, but when you realize that things are not like the way that you believed, you start to feel that the world where you are is empty and you feel lost, because you had always believed in a fiction truth.

There's no one meaning to this song. When you are listening to it, whether in happiness or grief, a sense of surreality and wonder washes over you and you bow to the genius of the music maker. Weirdly, it makes you feel better and you gain a more fine-tuned perception on life after you finish hearing this. At least this is what it does for me. Or you can just quit looking for hidden meanings and let the beauty of the song enrich and rejuvenate you.
