It consumes me, controls me, leaves me with nothing
But you know that I love how it tastes, fear and the fate.
I'll change face to get what I crave; fill my veins.

This gets me by (you know it feels good, you know it feels so good)
The drugs that keep me high (you know it feels so good, but you know it all
Feels so fake)

Product of a murderer, you stole everything from me.
This poison hurts; feels so empty.
Fill my veins with this sin
Shaking on the ground
My head's going crazy from within.
Cold sweats; shaking in my shame.
Heart stops; dying where I lay.

This gets me by (you know it feels good, you know it feels so good)
The drugs that keep me high (you know it feels so good, but you know it all
Feels so fake)
These drugs that keep me high

Sense of reality, perception falls, feels so empty.
Cold sweats, the pain, skin crawls, the shame.
Please save me
Please save me
This is the way I wanted to live
But you know, I was scared of the world
Praying it all would go away

This is the way I wanted to live
But you know, I was scared of the world
Praying it all would go away

This is the way I wanted to live
But you know, I was scared of the world
Praying it all would go away

I love him and i know i shouldn't because he hurts me. But it fuels my every decision. I could've walked away, but i chose to live with this pain. Instead of nothing.

I saw austin carlile perform this today and he said it was about his friend who serves in the war. Youre all wrong. Shut up.

This song is about heroin addiction. It's called product of a murder because most heroin dealers are murderous cartel members. These are all things h addicts literally go through.

There is no wrong or right in interpreting such texts. It's written so undetailed (not mentioning drugs or war or death or love or whatever) so it can touch everyone because everyone finds his own meaning and lecture in this text.
Love is often nothing different than a drug. It fills you with pleasure, happiness and warmth but it can also destroy you.
For me it's about the fear to not be able to make your life what you want it to be because you're afraid of the outside world which feels much better when you dull your mind with drugs, alcohol, whatever. You'll become more and more frustrated about this decision and someday realize that in all that time destroying and pity yourself you could have done something to make your life how you wanted it to be.

This song is definitely written about someone who was addicted to a drug, and they're describing what it feels like. The perception he's giving makes it seem like he doesn't want to be taking the drugs, and the other person singing(austin) seems like he is trying to convince him(shayley) that the drugs are a good thing, even though the feeling is fake.
