The rocks
They will always hold in the sea
And erosion can't stop their being
Oh no currents can defeat them
And I am thankful for the love
These rocks have always given

And although
This boat is steady now
One wave could pull me under
And I'll be stranded out at sea
And I will pray that those rocks
Will be there for me

And the sun always shines down on your shoes
Could be a blue blue christmas for you
'Cos when the sun always shines down on your shoes
Could be a blue blue christmas for you

I love the way that your hair is always neat
And your skirts fall below your knees
And your love is so pure and so clean

Oh, it comforts me (x4)

I love the way that you're always surprised
Oh, to find truth in all my lies
'Cos you trust me and ignore my disguise

Oh, it comforts me (x4)

But there's no need to play with my heart (x15)

This song means so much to me in 2006 my son took an overdose, thankfully he made it through and he was eventually diagnosed with bipolar depression. Up until very recently he's found it really hard to talk about the illness or that time in his life. The only thing he ever said to me back then came on a small scrap of paper attached to this song some 12 months later, he sent me a this song with 20 words attached "this is how i feel, he could have written it about you especially the first two verses. Love and thanks" the most he's ever said about it at the time

I think it's about his friends and how he loves that they are always there for him and those currents he talks about is life and how it is beautiful but does weird things and can bring you down but he knows his friend will always be there for him so he loves them because with them he can deal with life.

It is about how the singer is in love with the girl, but she is so fickle and so moody that she is the type of person that will love him and hate him at the same time. It shows that he loves how the rocks are always dependable and constant and that you can rely on them to be the same. When he says the thing about the ships being sunk out to see hes talking about how they will be going fine and then randomly she will bring him down, and he will have to depend on those others that are going to hold him up or be their for him, which is the other rocks
