Nothing is real,
I know this 'cause I made a deal,
With the devil he told me that I was just wasting my time on the moon.
So I flew to the sun,
Lost track of my soul on the run,
Suffering 12 degree burns,
I learned that the sun was no fun.
So I ran back to earth,
Tripped and fell in the glorified dirt,
Honestly gravity sees me as a liability.
So I held my breath,
'Till my soul left my body for dead.
I ripped through the clouds to talk with the man in the sky.

I said take this for what it is,
I think you're a tad bit prejudice against,
The ones like us that are searching for the answers.
He said kid you don't know shit,
You should go back home and live,
In that quiet little town you left behind.
I'm coming home,
Don't you cry, (don't you cry).
I'm coming home,
Just in time, (just in time).

I am a fake,
A constant go-getter of fate.
I lost track of time,
I carried my mind on a plate.
I seasoned it well,
With acid and mdma.
Then I howled at the moon,
'Till the sun burned out both of my eyes.
So I checked my pulse,
Standing there white as a ghost.
I lacked in complection,
And stabbed my reflection twelve times.
So I held my breath,
'Till my soul left my body for dead.
I ripped through the clouds,
To talk with the man in the sky.

I said take this for what it is,
I think you're a tad bit prejudice against,
The ones like us that are searching for the answers.
He said kid you don't know shit,
You should go back home and live,
In that quiet little town you left behind.
I'm coming home,
Don't you cry, (don't you cry).
I'm coming home,
Just in time, (just in time).

I don't know what I've been told,
I will sell my soul to rock and roll.
I don't know where to go,
I have lost control, oh no.
I don't know what I've been told,
I will sell my soul to rock and roll.
I don't know where to go,
I have lost control, oh no.
I don't know what I've been told,
I will sell my soul to rock and roll.
I don't know where to go,
I have lost control, oh no.
I don't know what I've been told,
I will sell my soul to rock and roll.
I don't know where to go,
I have lost control, oh no.

I was just wondering on what happened to the boy from Missouri who puts harmonica and ukulele in his songs. I mean Christofer is amazing and I love the kid to death, but if he's going to make this music that sounds electronically made, I guess I'll have to replay his album 'Harmony' over and over in my stereo. I feel bad that he used drugs, because I know its not fun to have that stuff tamper around and use you, but it's just. I don't know I miss this vegetarian boy who loved everyone and everything. This guy who only wanted the best and cared about his music, but not how it was listened to or who criticized it. Anyways, I just how the old Chris comes back. People say that the way you really stay true to your bands is that you never dislike any of their music and you stick with them. I disagree. I think that shows that your fake about what you listen to. So anyways, I don't like his new stuff either. Peace Out.

It's a protest song about his addiction to drugs and his experiences with them said in a metaphorical form. The song is used as a protest song against the use of drugs showing the dark outcomes of their addiction. The song refers to the moon and the sun as lighter and heavier drugs but it is also metaphorical as being a long way from human exsistance which indicates stronger addictions takes you away from reality the stronger the drugs and the heavier the addiction the outcome would be worse. There are many more metaphorical meanings in this song but I thought I might.

I believe the meaning of the song, is about drugs. And his battle with hard drugs (. "acid and mdma") the sun representing hard drugs and the moon representing less hard drugs. And I maybe he had an overdose or something which caused an out of body experience, causing him to "talk to the man in the sky" (most likely god) and go sent him back to clean himself up, but. I may be wrong and besides, people write these songs for you to hear and relate to. I feel how ever your heart feels it is most important.

I believe what he is trying to say is being famous isn't at all what he expected. "nothing is real,
I know this 'cause I made a deal, with the devil he told me that I was just wasting my time on the moon. " in this case the devil is his producer and the moon is when he was a "nobody" in the music business. His producer tells him he has talent and gets him to come out of the darkness and go to the sun(fame). Then he lost what he truly believed in on his rise to stardom and suffered. Then he finally went back to his home"earth". The man in the sky is god and god makes him understand that he needs to go back home and knock some sense into himself.

It means he truly wanted to know the meaning of life so he got mad at god so when he finally realized that god had all the answers and would tell them only when he thought it was right he went back home to his family and purged himself a bit. And yes it also has to do with his addictions. He's only human like the rest of us. Maybe slightly more free spirited creative and a truly beautiful soul, but yes. Just like us. ♥.
