Paralysed by my envy of the night
I am lost without you here and outside it looks like rain
For the last time, I bleed myself dry tonight
And nothing I could ever write, will help you understand this life
There's so much beauty when your eyes lay lost in all the city lights
The wax will drip as so as blood, romance is dead and all is lost.
You are the water in my lungs, we've lost it.
We are all alone.

Paralyzed by my envy of the night
I am lost without you here and outside it looks like rain
Tonight I bleed myself dry, I bleed myself dry, I bleed myself dry
And nothing I could ever write, will help you understand this life
There's so much beauty when your eyes lay lost in all the city lights
The wax will drip as so as blood, romance is dead and all is lost.
You are the water in my lungs, we've lost it....
NOW!!!

This song is about a person living by himself in the city. It plays as a message to his love who is not with him. He becomes depressed of this life (the image of it being about to rain with a gray sky helps further paint this picture). He then goes on to state how nothing he could write to her would help her understand how awful it is to live this way. Reminiscing to the last time she was with him, he remembers how amazed she was and how the city lights reflect in her motionless eyes. Next he describes how common crime is in the city and also how scandalous it is, how nobody truly loves somebody, just sex without meaning (the line is suppose to be "romance is dead and all is lust"). He then ends his message by stating that although she is always with him, he is alone as is everyone else in the city (obviously not literally but in the sense that nobody in the city helps another person, they only look out for themselves).

I honestly think it's about either laying hungover looking at the city lights, or it's about a man looking at someone dead and the body is facing the city lights
