Mickey Gilley – Room Full Of Roses lyrics

If I sent a rose to you
For everytime you made me blue
You'd have a room full of roses.

And if I sent a rose of white
For every time I cried all night
You'd have a room full of roses.

Chorus:
And if you took the petals
And you took them all apart
You'd be tearing at the roses
Just the way you tore my heart.

If someday you're feeling blue
And you could send a roses two
Don't send me a room full of roses
I just want my arms around you.

--- Instrumental ---

Chorus:
And if you took the petals
And you took them all apart
You'd be tearing at the roses
Honey, just the way you tore my heart.

If someday you're feeling blue
And you could send a roses two
Don't send me a room full of roses.

I just want my arms around you...

In the early 1950's my boyfriend and I broke up for a while to test our love. Well we were so miserable being apart that we quickly made up. On our first make-up date, we danced to a "room full of roses" and it became "our song". To me the song means roses are nice but doesn't take the place of being together when you're in love. (We were married 50 yrs. When my love passed away.)
