McFly – One For The Radio lyrics

Here's another song for the radio

Life isn't fair for the people who care
Stick your nose in the air and that's how you go far
So go tell your lovers, your fathers and brothers
Your sisters and mothers how lucky they are

Light speed, out of my mind
I'm hurt, but I'll be fine
Put you fist in the air,
Raise your voice and declare,
Singing: We don't care,
(We don't care)
We don't care
(We don't care)

So here's another song for the radio
And here's another line from the heart
So don't pretend you hate us when you sing along
'Cuz we all look the same in the dark

L. A temptations, or music sensations
There's great expectations that weigh on our heads
So here's to the liars who dream and conspire
Against the admired, we hope you drop dead

Light speed, out of my mind
I'm hurt, but I'll be fine
Put you fist on your chest,
Raise your voice and protest,
Singing: We don't care,
(We don't care)
We don't care
(We don't care)

So here's another song for the radio
And here's another line from the heart
So don't pretend you hate us when we sing our songs
'Cuz we all look the same in the dark

We don't, we don't care
We don't, we don't care
We don't, we don't care
We don't, we don't care

Here's one for the radio
Here's one for the radio
Here's one for the radio
(one for the radio)
Here's one for the radio

So here's another song for the radio
And here's another line from the heart
So don't pretend you hate us when we sing our songs
'Cuz we all look the same in the dark

Here's another song for the radio
(song for the radio)
Here's another line from the heart
(o o o o)
So don't pretend you hate us when you sing along
'Cuz we all look the same in the dark
(from the radio)
'Cuz we all look the same, we all look the same in the dark
(from the radio)
'Cuz we all look the same, we all look the same in the dark

I don't understand what people have against mcfly, they never do anything wrong and always try to bring out music that everyone can enjoy, it may not come across like this but the fans they do have treasure mcfly like gold. We respect them so much and respect the music they make even more. This song is saying that people may say they hate mcfly yet they sing along to their songs which means they obviously like their music, and just because your mates don't like me don't mean you have to follow the crowd.

This is such an obvious call out to haters, but I think it goes beyond Mcfly haters to life in general. 'we all look the same in the dark' I always took to be saying that it is stupid and ignorant to treat anyone different to anyone else because of hwo they look or whatever because we'er all the same when it comes down to it.
The title and main part of the course I think, which is in agreement to most people commenting here, is saying that they're just another band on the radio, it's not fair to judge them because of it.
I know it's totally unrelated but 'To all of the liars who dream and conspire agaisnt the admired we hope you drop dead' always makes me thing of the git who killed John Lennon. Bringing it back to the actual song and related stuff, I think it shows how much of a vicious circle hate is. You hate people, people hate you, you hate them, they hate you, and it just keeps going round.
The first line I love so much, 'Life isn't fair for the people who care' it shows how messed up society is. Getting someone is rarely about being a caring good person. Good, caring people are often the ones let down and used.
'la temptation or music sensations/There's great expectations' I think the temptation/sensation internal rhyme is showing that there's so many ways to go in life, and one doesn't have to override the other. There's the temptation of an exstravagent la lifestyle, and there's music sensations and they're very different - stereotypically - but however you live 'there's great expectations\'.

This song is sayin too all they people who 'pretend they hate them then sing along, ' That they 'don't care' that people hate too love them, because they have there fans (e. G- me!) and they probably couldn't give a damn that people sing along secretly and then say they hate them, coz they have enough people lovin them anyways! Haa, and also I think they might be sayin something about don't judge people by how they look because 'we all look the same in the dark' Woo, ily mcfly, You's rock!

The song challenges the people who claim not to like certain music because they don't think they should like it, but secretly enjoy listening to it (hence "don't pretend you hate us when you sing along"). I like the lyrics, because it's true, there are so many people who do just that, and now they know we're on to them xd
When it says "we all look the same in the dark" I think it's saying that on the radio it's just the music you hear and that's what you should judge them on. Liking them on the radio is the real test, since you're not influenced by knowing who the band is or what they look like, etc.
