Come away little loss
Come away to the water
To the ones that are waiting only for you
Come away little loss
Come away to the water
Away from the life that you always knew
We are calling to you
Come away little light
Come away to the darkness
In the shade of the night we'll come looking for you
Come away little light
Come away to the darkness
To the ones appointed to see it through
We are calling for you
We are coming for you

Come away little lamb
Come away to the water
Give yourself so we might live anew
Come away little lamb
Come away to the slaughter
To the ones appointed to see this through
We are calling for you
We are coming for you

Come away little lamb
Come away to the water
To the arms that are waiting only for you
Come away little lamb come away to the slaughter
To the one appointed to see this through
We are calling for you
We are coming for you
We are coming for you
We are coming for you

I think that the careers are calling the other tributes to them. "on the shade of the night we'll come looking for you", remember when peeta told katniss that the careers love to hunt at night? And the water, meaning the lake where the careers had their stuff. Also "give yourselves so we may live anew" might be for cato and clove, who could have lived if katniss and peeta had been killed. "come away to the slaughter" is pretty obvious.

This song is basicly the capitol's theme. They're cajoling all the tributes into leaving the life they knew to fight and die for televisional exploitation. The best part about the song is how maroon 5 try to paint this as ascending into a greater place when in reality, this is a death sentence. It sounds just like the capitol people!

This song, standing on it's own, probably means that the young and innocent or those who are not at fault are often sacrificed because of the wrongs of others. In relationship to the hunger games, it probably relates to the tributes having to participate in the games even though the rebellion they're paying for happened 75 years ago.

I believe this is in the point of view of the careers. They are searching for katniss, looking. She is the biggest threat in the game to them, they team up and look for her, the "leoss" or the "lamb". So they want to have her killed, the "slaughter" so the games will end quicker. Just my opinion.
