Lydia – Hospital lyrics

So I've been sleeping with this silence in my mind
And all I see scares me
And no one knows it, but she, she saved me

So I've been sleeping with this silence in my brain
Awakening here everyday in this god damn place
I won't wait here anymore

It's still not quite the way it was
But you promised me this is love to stay
Watch the hospital that's
Just across the street
From your apartment balcony
I'll never ever leave there
I'll never leave

Oh, no one is watching now
Sing like you just might drown
But always come back home
'Cause I never got to see you once more, no
I guess that's all I wanted
Yeah, I guess that's all I needed

Now look, you've made a fool out of love
When all we want is to be enough
When all we want is to feel enough

It's still not quite the way it was
But you promised me this is love to stay
Watch the hospital that's just across the street
From your apartment balcony
I'll never ever leave there
I'll never leave

Watch the hospital that's just across the street
(It's still not quite the way it was)
From your apartment balcony
(But you promised me this is love to stay)
I'll never ever leave there
I'll stay

    --FELISAUR--
The whole song could be based upon losing love. A guy's love left him, and left him "in silence," which means for him being lonely, sleeping alone. He would watch everything on the quiet balcony the two lived in. His love never came back, the memory scaring him, as mentioned in the first stanza of the song.

The girl said in the song, unknown and nameless to the audience, promised that "love would stay," meaning their relationship would never part. Her promise was broken at one time, leaving the singer alone and broken hearted.

He wouldn't leave because the two of them lived there, but what about the hospital? Maybe he was referring to the pain the patients suffered to himself? Was it a mental hospital, a hospital where the hurt go?

"Sing like you just might drown" may refer to suicide, but it states that he always would come back, or someone else would. Maybe he was planning on ending his own suffering, his loneliness? Maybe he was feeling bad for his love?
