Ave Maria, gratia plena.
Maria, gratia plena
Maria, gratia plena
Ave, ave dominus,
Dominus tecum.
Benedicta tu in mulieribus,
Et benedictus
Et benedictus fructus ventris,
Ventris tui, Jesus.
Ave Maria.

(Some versions add the following)

Ave Maria, Mater Dei,
Ora pro nobis peccatoribus,
Ora, ora pro nobis;
Ora, ora pro nobis peccatoribus,
Nunc et in hora mortis,
In hora mortis nostrae.
In hora, hora mortis nostrae,
In hora mortis nostrae.
Ave Maria

Amen.

We do not worship mary. She is the ever-virgin mother conceived without sin, and her special status warrants a special kind of respect and admiration ("hyperdulia"), but not adoration, which is reserved solely for god.
Her sinlessness and special place as queen of heaven also make her prayers to god particularly powerful. This is why we pray to her. We recruit her help and ask her to pray for us to her son, because we know her prayers are more perfect than ours. Ave maria, gratia plena.

Amen
Is a prayer which was repeated as my grandmother and mom taught me the rosary - it is one which sustains me even today as I'm sure it sustains us all.

It has nothing to do with Jesus for me. It has everything to do with the much undervalued human capacity for love and love of sublime beauty. I certainly would not believe in the ludicrous Catholic mythology which tells that 'the virgin Mary' was elevated to heaven and is STILL alive!
