I can remember days
Things weren't always this way
I used to make you smile
If only for a while
But now you can't get through
There's no way I can lose
I know some days are hard
But don't you make mine too

Cause I can't stand it when you come home
And we just fight for hours
But I won't show it
No I'll just hold my breath and keep it quite

Every little earthquake
Every little heartbreak
Going unheard
Every little land slide
Catch it in my hand
I wont say a word
Every time you hurt me
I know that's it's working
Making you mine
Every clap of thunder
Only makes me stronger
On the inside

How many countless nights
I try me best to hide
Soon as you slam the door
My tears fall to the floor
I know that people change
Maybe your not to blame
But must you burn a hole
So deep into my soul
Cause I can't stand it when you come home
And we just fight for hours
But I won't show it
No I'll just hold my breathe and keep it quiet

Every little earthquake
Every little heartbreak
Going unheard
Every little land slide
Catch it in my hand
I wont say a word
Every time you hurt me
I know that's it's working
Making you mine
Every clap of thunder
Only makes me stronger
On the inside

Every little earthquake
Every little heartbreak
Every little land slide
Catch it in my hand x3

Every little earthquake
Every little heartbreak
Going unheard
Every little landslide
Catch it in my hand
I wont say a word
Every time you hurt me
I know that's it's working
Making you mine
Every clap of thunder
Only makes me stronger
On the inside

Every little earthquake
Every little heartbreak
Every little landslide
Catch it in my hand x2

I listen to this song all the time... Why did i never realize it was trying to warn me of my failing relationship. Fights build up. She just kept it all inside. Our fights would have lasting effects on her and she couldnt take how she felt when we fought.. I see the earthquake being the fight, that impact leaves a mark but she was stong enough to not let it break her down but took it and gave her power though it. She would accept the pain of the fighting (the earthquake that hurt her) made me hers because she was putting up with it for me. But everything has a breaking point. I realized all this too late and lost the most amazing person i have ever known.

Although i like the song, these lyrics make no sense.
"every time you hurt me, i know that its working, making you mine"
So every time he hurts her, he belongs more to her? That doesn't make sense. He doesn't even seem to want her. He is abusive and hurtful and all they do is fight. But when he acts like this, he belongs more to her? Sounds like it's more the other way around. And "evey clap of thunder only makes me stronger on the inside" so it makes her tougher, better able to bear the pain he causes her? Well i suppose that makes a little sense.
