There's a long black train comin' down the line,
Feeding off the souls that are lost and cryin'.
Rails of sin, only evil remains.
Watch out, brother, for that long black train.
Look to the heaven's, you can look to the sky.
You can find redemption staring back into your eyes.
There is protection and there's peace the same:
Burnin' your ticket for that long black train.
'Cause there's victory in the Lord, I say.
Victory in the Lord.
Cling to the Father and his Holy name,
And don't go ridin' on that long black train. [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/j/josh_turner/long_black_train.html ]
There's an engineer on that long black train,
Makin' you wonder if the ride is worth the pain.
He's just a-waitin' on your heart to say:
"Let me ride on that long black train."
But you know there's victory in the Lord, I say.
Victory in the Lord.
Cling to the Father and his Holy name,
And don't go ridin' on that long black train.
Well, I can hear the whistle from a mile away.
It sounds so good but I must stay away.
That train is a beauty makin' everybody stare,
But it's only destination is the middle of nowhere.
But you know there's victory in the Lord, I say.
Victory in the Lord.
Cling to the Father and his Holy name,
And don't go ridin' on that long black train.
I said cling to the Father and his Holy name,
And don't go ridin' on that long black train.
Yeah, watch out brother for that long black train.
That devil's drivin' that long black train.

A song about redemption and how
god loves us. The warning is that the devil makes things look good and he wants your soul, but god gives his warning and wants your soul to be saved from the traps of sin. Deliverance!

I agree with all of you!!! Always trust in the lord!!!
I agree with everyone, trust the lord. The ride on earth may be difficult, but taking the long white train, will be totally worth it. Heaven is beautiful, and if you ride the long black train, you might never see it. You can put in little years of an easy, and wrong life. Or, you can spend a long time, working hard, and doing right, to enjoy an eternity in heaven. You'll all be happy at one point, but the road to heaven, will bring you a lot more happiness.
I just heard this song for the first time right now and it made me cry because it made me realize that i was riding that black train alot! And i'm not gonna get back on it. I have decided to change my ways and i plan to keep it that way for as long as i can!
I agree with both of you.. He is saying, the wrong choice looks great, but you dont know what the consequences are, but you know there's victory in the lord, so why not tough it out and go somewhere 100% pleasurable and sure.
Also i think its showing how the wrong choice may look good but it will not be as good as it seems. Thats what the saying whether the ride is worth the pain means. Is that smokin weed worth all the trouble you'll get in for it. The devil may seem good but he's not
That you should do the right thing and tough out this life on earth because their will be victory in your patience. And heaven will be 100 percent worth it
