Josh Turner – Long Black Train lyrics

There's a long black train comin' down the line,
Feeding off the souls that are lost and cryin'.
Rails of sin, only evil remains.
Watch out, brother, for that long black train.
Look to the heaven's, you can look to the sky.
You can find redemption staring back into your eyes.
There is protection and there's peace the same:
Burnin' your ticket for that long black train.

'Cause there's victory in the Lord, I say.
Victory in the Lord.
Cling to the Father and his Holy name,
And don't go ridin' on that long black train.

There's an engineer on that long black train,
Makin' you wonder if the ride is worth the pain.
He's just a-waitin' on your heart to say:
"Let me ride on that long black train."

But you know there's victory in the Lord, I say.
Victory in the Lord.
Cling to the Father and his Holy name,
And don't go ridin' on that long black train.

Well, I can hear the whistle from a mile away.
It sounds so good but I must stay away.
That train is a beauty makin' everybody stare,
But it's only destination is the middle of nowhere.

But you know there's victory in the Lord, I say.
Victory in the Lord.
Cling to the Father and his Holy name,
And don't go ridin' on that long black train.

I said cling to the Father and his Holy name,
And don't go ridin' on that long black train.

Yeah, watch out brother for that long black train.
That devil's drivin' that long black train.

This song may be popular, but it is not the gospel of Jesus Christ!
Beware of thinking a long white train will take you to heaven and you can avoid a long black train just because you wish it to be so. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Eph. 2:89.
Yes you must trust in the Lord, but you must also believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God came to die for your sins, and know this: If you haven't been born again by the Father drawing you to Himself through His Holy Spirit through faith and repentance, the you are already on the long black train! You must cry out to god to save you through Сhrist's blood, to enable you to have saving faith and true repentance! A mere intellectual belief is not the same as saving faith! Read God's Word, start with the book of John, if you want eternal life through faith in Christ.

I agree with everyone, trust the lord. The ride on earth may be difficult, but taking the long white train, will be totally worth it. Heaven is beautiful, and if you ride the Long Black Train, you might never see it. You can put in little years of an easy, and wrong life. Or, you can spend a long time, working hard, and doing right, to enjoy an eternity in heaven. You'll all be happy at one point, but the road to heaven, will bring you a lot more happiness.
