Gravity is working against me
And gravity wants to bring me down

Oh I'll never know what makes this man
With all the love that his heart can stand
Dream of ways to throw it all away

Oh Gravity is working against me
And gravity wants to bring me down

Oh twice as much aint twice as good
And can't sustain like a one half could
It's wanting more
That's gonna send me to my knees

Oh gravity, stay the hell away from me
Oh gravity, has taken better men than me how can that be?

Just keep me where the light is
Just keep me where the light is
Just keep me where the light is
Come on keep me where the light is
Come on keep me where the light is
Come on keep me where, keep me where the light is

Hey blob... I notice you post a lot. But hardly any of the posts have any relation to the song. They are all something like "(artist) is the greatest and I like (song)"... I understand you want to make a lot of posts, and that's fine... but you don't like every lyric that's out there. I honestly don't think you've heard any of it (except for the radio stuff).

Post what you feel. Post your feelings and definition of the song. That's what this is about.

Blob. I'll say that I have voted some of your meanings down... but definitely not all. I only vote the redundant and ridiculous ones. You do the same to me, and to others. I've noticed that a lot yours fluctuate, so I know I'm not the only one voting you down. As far as following you... I laugh at your accusations! You follow EVERYONE around. You watch my comments closely as well as Toxic's. I've noticed a few other, but I don't remember their names. You vote all mine down... even my legitimate meanings.

Have you even ever HEARD of The Showdown? I remember a comment on one of their songs and you said "This is their greatest song"... Yea whatever. Cannibal Corpse?! You have no clue of who they are.

I'll stop voting you down if you stop putting up meaningless posts. I negative ANYONE's post that is either not related to the subject or plain out stupid.

BTW, I've voted a few of yours positive. And kudos to you for those particular posts.

I think anything hit the nail on the head.

Gravity is the "feeling". Any man would love to have two women (and I don't mean in bed kind of way) to love and have them love him. He's saying his human nature to want two lovers is working against a faithful relationship. When he says "I'll never know what makes this man... dream of ways to throw it all away" he means that he has a perfect life with his current love now, but for some reason wants to throw that love away to have both.

I think "keep me where the light is" is a statement to say "I've decided to stay with the original love and I'd rather take the path that I can see what's ahead of me instead of taking a blind chance"...

Gravity refers to a big, invisible force that controls us whether we like it or not, as we dwell on this earth. This force could refer to God, or it just might be trying to say that the world or fate is working against him, pulling him down.

The second part, i'm not sure about, but it seems as if there is a man who has so much love in his heart, but for some reason, he wants to throw it all away, in a sense wasting perfectly good love.

Twice as much aint twice as good, i think it means that loving a person more, or double than you already love that person, wont make the person love you in return. Twice as much love that you give won't sustain, or keep you happy, just like having half a love can't keep you happy.

He wants more love, but since no one can seem to give it to him, it tears at his heart, bringing him to his knees...

Keep me where the light is could mean many things. One could mean, keep me with God, or keep me where things are clear. It could also mean, keep me near the light of my life.

The tone of the song makes it a song of a longing heart.
