Close your eyes
Have no fear
The monster's gone
He's on the run and your daddy's here

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy

Before you go to sleep
Say a little prayer
Every day in every way
It's getting better and better

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy

Out on the ocean sailing away
I can hardly wait
To see you come of age
But i guess we'll both just have to be patient
'cause it's a long way to go
A hard row to hoe
Yes it's a long way to go
But in the meantime

Before you cross the street
Take my hand
Life is what happens to you
While you're busy making other plans

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy

Before you go to sleep
Say a little prayer
Every day in every way
It's getting better and better

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy
Darling, darling, darling
Darling sean

It's such a beautiful song; purely dedicated to his son. I feel bad for julian though; he's sitting at home with his mother without talking to his father for months, and hearing a song he wrote about his new son with his new wife ... I know it would break my heart ... But i still love john lennon,

Like harry chapin's "cat's in the cradle" this is an anthem for fathers. To me it is a pledge of protection and unconditional love. It is the hope for the son not to grow up too fast, and the dream of what kind of man the son may become. It is a very simple and beautiful lullaby.

My son was born a month and a half premature. He fought to live. He is still fighting to live. This song means so much more. I love john for writing this one even if its to his son, it can be to many sons.
