Im not alone cause the TVs on yeah.
Im not crazy cause I take the right pills everyday.
And rest, clean your conscious, clear your thoughts with speyside with your grain.
Clean your conscious, clear your thoughts with speyside.
Salt, sweat, sugar on the asphalt.
Our hearts littering the topsoil.
Tune in and we can get the last call.
Our lives, our coal.
Salt, sweat, sugar on the asphalt.
Our hearts littering the topsoil.
Sign up it's the picket line or the parade.
Our lives. [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/j/jimmy_eat_world/bleed_american.html ]
Sign up it's the picket line or the parade, our lives.
(I bled the) greed from my arm.
Wont they give it a rest now?
Salt, sweat, sugar on the asphalt.
Our hearts littering the topsoil.
Tune in and we can get the last call.
Salt, sweat, sugar on the asphalt, our hearts littering the topsoil.
Sign up it's the picket line or the parade.
Americans are subconsciously stuck in a consumer world.
Media and corporations have taken over, and we pay for it in our blood.
If we want something different for ourselves, we have to recognize it and demand something different.
I love this song. I think it just means to try your hardest. I really don't know. I just know "blood, sweat, and tears" usually means you put all you have into something. Salt is put on asphalt to keep the grip. Sweat could mean you've been walking the road for a while... I don't know about the sugar. Their hearts are bleeding on the topsoil... Which brings me back to blood sweat and tears.
