Jermaine Stewart – We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off lyrics

Not a word, from your lips
You just took for granted that I want to skinny dip.
A quick hit, that's your game.
But I'm not a piece of meat, stimulate my brain.
Night is young, so are we.
Lets get to know each other better, slow & easily.
Take my hand, lets hit the floor.
Shake our bodies to the music.
Maybe then you'll score.

Chorus: So come on baby, wont you show some class
Why you want to move so fast.
We don't have to take our clothes off
To have a good time
Oh no
We could dance & party all night
And drink some cherry wine
Uh huh
We don't have to take our clothes off
To have a good time
Oh no
We could dance & party all night
And drink some cherry wine
Uh huh
Na na na na na na na...

Just slow down if you want me
A man wants to be approached cool & romantically
I've got needs
Just like you
If the conversations good
Vibrations through & through

So come on baby, wont you show some class
Why you want to move so fast
We don't have to take outr clothes off
To have a good time
Oh no
We could dance & party all night
And drink some cherry wine

Uh huh
Na na na na na na...

Jermaine stewart in 1988: "i think it made a lot of peoples' minds open up a little bit. We didn't only want to just talk about clothes, we wanted to extend that. We wanted to use the song as a theme to be able to say you don't have to do all the negative things that society forces on you. You don't have to drink and drive. You don't have to take drugs early. The girls don't have to get pregnant early. So the clothes bit of it was to get people's attention, which it did and i'm glad it was a positive message. "

Are. I. P. Jermaine stewart. Great song. Have love it since it came out. I get the words. It means keep it tight, self worth does not begin in the bed, it begin from the heart. Google him and you will find out what the meaning of this song mean. He died from complications of aids and apparently he wrote this before his death so people would know to slow down and get to know one another and know you do not have to have s** right away just cuz you like someone.

It means the Jackson's were born with a rare illness that makes them completely confused on just what gender they are - this song was an early cry for help from Jermaine, since no 'manly man' would ever say such things where any other men could hear him. It was this unfortunate hereditary condition that led to Janet becoming so more butch than Justin Timberlake that they needed to remind people she even had breasts.
    Sorry, couldn't help myself.
