To the cross I look, to the cross I cling
Of its suffering I do drink
Of its work I do sing
For on it my Savior both bruised and crushed
Showed that God is love
And God is just
Chorus:
At the cross You beckon me
You draw me gently to my knees, and I am
Lost for words, so lost in love,
Im sweetly broken, wholly surrendered [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/j/jeremy_riddle/sweetly_broken.html ]
What a priceless gift, undeserved life
Have I been given
Through Christ crucified
Youve called me out of death
Youve called me into life
And I was under Your wrath
Now through the cross Im reconciled
Chorus:
In awe of the cross I must confess
How wondrous Your redeeming love and
How great is Your faithfulness
What this song means to me is that jesus paid the price for us to be with him and god in heaven. And him dying on the cross we can go to him and be with him in the spirit and trust him

The lord called us out of death, and into life, meaning that he called us away from our sin and our shame and into a new life with him, in which we are loved beyond reason and clean of all our sins. We all have hurts and hang-ups, but he reconciled that through the cross. Because of the amazing love that christ has for us, he died on the cross for us as an example of how much he loves us. When we grab hold to that, and we lay our habits and hurts and hangups down at the foot of the cross, we can be truly and sweetly broken in him. Being broken at the foot of the cross is an awesome thing, because it is in that brokenness that we are molded and fitted into the person that god has called us to be.

Being sweetly broken by him from ourselves to be humbled and shapend by him. What an awesome god we serve that he loves us too much to let us be stagnant and he loved us enough to endure being sweetly broken first for us. How can we not return a small resemblance of that for him.

I am sweetly broken by christ, he allows us to use or free will then we forget that he was broken for us. Yet he still embraces us with love and forgivness. He calls us out of death and all the misery of sin, he calls into life eternal with him. His glory and mercy has no bounds. He loves us so much, he was bruised and crushed when it shoud have been us. He took our punishment yet he was silent. My love for him is so deep and amazing that my heart is sweetly broken. Thank you jesus for you tender mercies and your abiding love. We give you all the honor and praise and when we close our eyes to pray, we can reach out and touch your face. I long to be in your arms, and see your smile. I love you so much. Thank you for saving my soul.

Because of the cross, nothing is sweeter than being broken. His brokenness brings us to our knees since we can't be broken without realizing what he did for us at the cross. Anything other than the cross is self-serving.

We would be nothing if christ hadn't given is life for us. This song is so powerful in representing how much we needed and still need christ, and how much he was willing to give because he loves us.
