So this ain't the end - I saw you again today
I had to turn my heart away
Smiled like the Sun - kisses for everyone
And tales - it never fails!

You lying so low in the weeds
I bet you gonna ambush me

You'd have me down on my knees
Now wouldn't you, Barracuda?

Back over Time we were all trying for free
Met up with porpoise and me
No right no wrong you're selling a Song - a name
Whisper game

If the real thing don't do the trick
You better make up something quick

You gonna burn into the wick
Aren't you, Barracuda?

"Sell me sell you" the porpoise said
Dive down deep now save my head
You... I think you got the blues too.

All that night and all the next
Swam without looking back
Made for the western pools -silly fools

If the real thing don't do the trick No!
You better make up something quick
You gonna burn into the wack

    haha this is very true...
a lot of people are just making songs just to get a lot of money...
the song is not made because they wanted to make song and create music... it's all about the money...
if the artist/composers that has great minds can't compose anything good or catchy to gain more money, then the recording management should do something to sell something... but there's no heart in their work...

i guess that's the reason why a lot of artists just come and go in the scene... all they do is just be a one hit wonder and be gone...

i hope the music industry... the artists will step up and create more meaningful music... and i hope the audience will know how to appreciate the real music...

HEHEHE! CATCHY SONG (in my opinion.) It's an awesome song on Guitar Hero Legends of Rock! (kinda tired of Pop now. It's music, but not my fav type.)

Barracuda was written, at least in part, as a response to certain reporters and 'journalists' who alleged that Ann and Nancy were, shall we say, MORE than just sisters (most likely due to their interpretation of the cover of the 'Dreamboat Annie' lp).
Ann and Nancy were a bit angry, and rightly so.

One of the great unheralded and largely unknown guitar riffs in rock. With a powerful story attached to it, of lies, betrayal, shame, naked greed and hanging your artistes out to dry just to see records. And all because a record company executive thought singing sisters were a bit too clean and vanilla to last in rock music, and he'd better spice up the backstory a bit to spur some prurient press interest. Unfortunately, the story lingers even today. The Guardian, a newspaper that should have known better, could make the sneering comment in the late 2000's that "Heart's music remains unaccountably popular among lesbians" and that a sure sign of a woman being gay is that she owns all Heart's LP's plus concert bootlegs.

The wilson sisters revealed in various interviews that the song was about heart's anger towards an ad mushroom records placed in trade publications implying that the ann and nancy were lesbians having an affair. The song focuses on ann's rage towards a promoter who came up to her after a concert in detroit asking how her "lover" was. She initially thought he was talking about her then boyfriend - band member michael fisher. After he revealed he was talking about her sister nancy wilson, ann became angry and went back to her hotel room to write the song. Nancy put suitably angry music to the words to complete the song comparing the sleazy side of music to a dangerous fish.
