My heart's a stereo
It beats for you, so listen close
Hear my thoughts in every no-o-o-te
Make me your radio
And turn me up when you feel low
This melody was meant for you
Just sing along to my stereo

Gym Class Heroes baby!
If I was just another dusty record on the shelf
Would you blow me off and play me like everybody else?
If I asked you to scratch my back, could you manage that?
Like yea [scratched], check it Travie, I can handle that
Furthermore, I apologize for any skipping tracks
It's just the last girl that played me left a couple cracks
I used to used to used to, now I'm over that
'Cause holding grudges over love is ancient artifacts

If I could only find a note to make you understand
I'd sing it softly in your ear and grab you by the hand
Just keep it stuck inside your head, like your favorite tune
And know my heart's a stereo that only plays for you

My heart's a stereo
It beats for you, so listen close
Hear my thoughts in every no-o-o-te
Make me your radio
And turn me up when you feel low
This melody was meant for you
Just sing along to my stereo

Oh oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh to my stereo
Oh oh oh oh to sing along to my stereo

Let's go!
If I was an old-school fifty pound boombox (remember them?)
Would you hold me on your shoulder wherever you walk
Would you turn my volume up in front of the cops (turn it up)
And crank it higher everytime they told you to stop

And all I ask is that you don't get mad at me
When you have to purchase mad D batteries
Appreciate every mixtape your friends make
You never know we come and go like on the interstate

I think I finally found a note to make you understand
If you can hit it, sing along and take me by the hand
Just keep me stuck inside your head, like your favorite tune
You know my heart's a stereo that only plays for you

My heart's a stereo
It beats for you, so listen close
Hear my thoughts in every no-o-o-te
Make me your radio
Turn me up when you feel low
This melody was meant for you
Just sing along to my stereo

Oh oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh to my stereo
Oh oh oh oh to sing along to my stereo

I only pray you'll never leave me behind (never leave me)
Because good music can be so hard to find (so hard to find)
I take your hand and hold it closer to mine
Thought love was dead, but now you're changing my mind

My heart's a stereo
It beats for you, so listen close
Hear my thoughts in every no-o-o-te
Make me your radio
Turn me up when you feel low
This melody was meant for you
Just sing along to my stereo

Oh oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh to my stereo
Oh oh oh oh (Gym Class Heroes baby! ) to sing along to my stereo

"if i was just another dusty record on the shelf" means that he was unwanted/forgotten/ not popular. So it would be found by someone.
"it's just the last girl that played me left a couple cracks.. " so it can have 2 meanings I guess. The last crush left his heart broken. Also played can mean that he was played like a pawn sort of like being fooled I guess. Just another convenience hope this helps: d

Every time I hear this song, the first thing that comes to mind is my boyfriend, because if anything could ever clash between our love, something came to pull us back up. I'm the only person my boyfriend's heart beats for; you could ask him. I love him so much. I'm going over to his house today and this song is definitely going to play as we sit on the couch together. This song is basically like a remix to any other love song. Oh, and adam levine's voice is like, amazing, so there's another reason why I love this song! ;)

The song is about someone that has been in a few relationships that have gone bad. He seems to be slow to get back on his dating game. "the last girl that played me let a couple cracks. " "would you blow be off and play me like everybody else. " but he goes for the girl hes talking to and for the moment its really great. "only plays for you. " I only pray you don't leave be behind, because good music(relationships) can be so hard to find. Great song, awesome lyrics, love the dubstep wubs in the back round.

I remember reading somewhere, that when travie mccoy was born you had a stereo instead of a head. The doctors had to preform some cutting edge surgery to replace the stereo with a human head. They did a fantastic job but naturally with surgerys of this kind there were some slight complications, which is why he suffered some brain damage and comes across as a little bit retarded. I think that this song is what that is about.
