Go Fish – About The Cross lyrics
Verse 1:

It's not just about the manger
Where the baby lay
It's not all about the angels
Who sang for him that day

It's not just about the shepherds
Or the bright and shining star
It's not all about the wisemen
Who travelled from afar

Chorus:
It's about the cross
It's about my sin
It's about how Jesus came to be born once
So that we could be born again

It's about the stone
That was rolled away
So that you and I could have real life someday

It's about the cross
It's about the cross

Verse 2:

It's not just about the presents
Underneath the tree
It's not all about the feeling
That the season brings to me

It's not just about coming home
To be with those you love
It's not all about the beauty
In the snow I'm dreaming of

Repeat Chorus

Bridge:

The beginning of the story is wonderful and great
But it's the ending that can save you and that's why we celebrate

It's about the cross
It's about my sin
It's about how Jesus came to be born once
So that we could be born again

It's about God's love
Nailed to a tree
It's about every drop of blood that flowed from Him when it should have been me

It's about the stone
That was rolled away
So that you and I could have real life someday
So that you and I could have real life someday

It's about the cross
It's about the cross

The cross was just a wooden beam, its what christ did on the cross that saved us when he said it is finished and gave up the ghost we were forgiven and he was no longer limited and now has full power in his children. It was the blood he shed, so when I think of the cross I get all teary because I think of the beating jesus took just for me and his life he gave just for me so I could live. I am so glad he lives today in my heart and some day I will be with him for ever more because he paid the price for my soul at calvary. That's what I think about the cross it brought me salvation and life for ever more.

The lyrics means that its not just about the cross that encourages us to celebrate christmas or any other occasions, but its how god sacrificed for us to save us from our sins and died to redeem us so that we can gain our life today. Its not just the presents that our loved ones gave, but its all about the gift that god has given so that we can enjoy, thank, praise, glorify him every day of our lives and give back what is due to him.

It's about the real meaning of Christmas, about the birth of the messiah, the birth of the saviour. He came to save man from the consequences of their sin. He came to restore the relationship of a Holy God and a sinful man. It's all about the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ the only name that can save us. Matthew 1:21 says... "She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins."
