What you don't know,
Is all I know.

How can I make sure that I fool everyone?
Gonna wear a suit and tie and put my bravest face on.
And it's far too deep to show you this wound.
No it wont heal, no time soon.
Nobody knows what I'm going through.

I'm dying inside.
Who know's what I'm thinking, what I'm trying to hide?
Here I'm dying all night
I'm breathing, but I can't feel life.
I'm smiling, but I'm dying inside.

How can I make sure that I'm invisible?
I find just a simple phrase that may say it all.
Cause it's far too soon and not the right time

To me this song represents a struggle to live through grief. To keep looking and acting as if everything is OK whilst trying to conceal the pain and vulnerability associated with feeling grief-stricken. It's powerful in its simplicity. It conveys a deep, deep sadness and the rawness of grief with the need to carry on life as normal. It demonstrates the polarity between the depth of pain and the surface mask. It is a painful cry from the heart and soul but one that doesn't want exposure to the outside world. It is almost too fragile and sublime a feeling to be sullied by exposure to the outside. It is a very beautiful song with which many people will be able to identify at times of deep sadness, grief and trouble in their lives.
